Easy Chili Powder Pecan Crackles Cookies Recipe
- 1 (9-ounce) package devil's food cake mix
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon ground chipotle chili powder
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1 tablespoon butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
- Preheat oven to 375F degrees.
- In a medium bowl stir together cake mix, cocoa powder, chipotle chili powder, egg and butter until moistened (dough will be stiff).
- Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
- Place milk in a shallow dish.
- Dip balls in milk, then roll in nuts to coat.
- Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake for 8 to 9 minutes, or just tops are crackled.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on the cookie sheet for 1 minute and then transfer cookies to wire rack and cool completely.
Makes about 20 Chili Powder Pecan Crackles.
