Crispy Cereal Squares Surprise

Do you love Rice Krispies Treats? But looking to put a new spin on an old classic?
I think you're going to fall in love with this recipe - and so will your kids!
The "surprise" ingredient here is to chop up your favorite candy bar and mix it in with the other ingredients. With this special technique, there's an almost endless number of different and unique flavor combinations you can come up with for these treats.
Crispy Cereal Squares Surprise
Ingredients:- 4 candy bars, chopped (our favorites are Snickers and Milky Way Bars)
- 1/2 cup smooth or chunky peanut butter
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 cups miniature marshmallows
- 4 cups unsweetened crisp cereal (experiment with rice cereal, oat cereal, corn puffs, or any combination)
Instructions:Lightly butter a 9-inch square baking pan and set aside.
In a large saucepan over low heat, melt chopped candy, peanut butter, butter and 1 cup mini marshmallows. Stir continuously until smooth.
Remove from heat and stir in cereal and remaining marshmallows.
Spread evenly in prepared pan.
Let stand at room temperature until set, at least 1 hour.
Cut squares into desired size and shape.
