I'm a long time fan of grape-nuts cereal. Here's a fun recipe for Grape-Nuts Peanut Butter Bars from the back of the box I bought recently. It sounded really good and immediately caught my eye so I cut it out and gave them a try.
It's a real quick and easy recipe for a no-bake chewy cereal bar with just 4 ingredients. They are like chewy peanut butter granola bars you buy, only better!
Grape-Nuts Peanut Butter Bars Recipe
Ingredients
3/4 cup peanut butter
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup sugar
4 cups POST GRAPE-NUTS Cereal
Directions
Lightly spray a 9 x 13-inch pan with cooking spray
In a large microwaveable bowl, combine the peanut butter, corn syrup and sugar. Microwave on high until the mixture comes to a boil, about 2 minutes, stirring after each minute.
Press the cereal mixture evenly onto the bottom of the prepared pan.
Cool completely.
Cut into 30 bars. Wrap individually with plastic wrap. Store in a tightly covered container at room temperature.
Yield: Makes 30 bars
Variations
Fruity Grape-Nuts Peanut Butter Bars: Prepare as directed, stirring in 1 cup dried fruit such as raisins, cranberries, chopped dates, chopped cherries or fruit bits, along with the cereal.
