Maple Frosted Raisin Cookies Recipe
Raisin Cookies:
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup applesauce
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Maple Frosting:
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 3 to 4 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon maple extract
- Raisins
- Preheat oven to 375F. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper or silicone liners.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat flour, granulated sugar, butter, applesauce, egg, pumpkin pie spice, baking soda and salt with an electric mixer on low speed until well mixed, about 2 to 3 minutes.
- Stir in raisins and walnuts.
- Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto prepared cookie sheets.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Remove cookies from oven and let stand for 1 minute on sheet before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
- Prepare Maple Frosting:
In a small mixing bowl, beat powdered sugar, butter, milk and maple extract on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3 to 4 minutes. - Spread frosting over cooled cookies and place 2 raisins in center of each cookie.
This recipe yields about 3 dozen Maple Frosted Raisin Cookies.
