Quick And Easy Pecan Bars That Taste Like Pecan Pie!

That's what you get with one of our favorite desert bar recipes - quick and easy pecan bars.
If you are a fan of pecans and pecan pie you will love these cookie bars.
Raised a yankee, I did not grow up on pecan pie but have become a convert since moving to Arizona, one of the US states where pecans grow.
Other US pecan growing states include Georgia, Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Hawaii.
I had no idea just how many different kinds of pecans there are - more than 1,000!
Pecans are a great source of protein and unsaturated fat!
Did you know that clinical research suggests that eating a handful of pecans each day may help lower cholesterol levels similar to what is seen with cholesterol lowering medications?
I often snack on pecans and other nuts during the day.
Of coarse, eating Pecan Bars is not the least caloric, most healthy way to get your daily serving of pecans, but it is probably the sweetest!
Quick and Easy Pecan Bars Recipe
Crust:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup powdered sugar
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
Topping:
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2/3 cup butter
- 3 tablespoons whipping cream
- 3 1/2 cups coarsely chopped pecans
- Preheat oven to 350F degrees.
- Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking pan and set aside. Alternatively line the baking pan with foil that extends a bit beyond the sides of the pan. This will allow you to remove the pecan bars in one slab so you can cut them more evenly and makes cleanup easier.
- Sift together 2 cups flour and 2/3 cup powdered sugar.
- Cut in 3/4 cup softened butter using a pastry blender or fork just until mixture resembles coarse meal.
- Press mixture on bottom and 1 1/2 inches up the sides of the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
- Remove from the oven and set on a rack to cool.
- Meanwhile make the topping. Bring brown sugar, honey, 2/3 cup butter, and whipping cream to a rolling boil in a saucepan over medium-high heat.
- Stir in pecans, and then pour hot filling into prepared crust.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
- Cool completely before cutting into desired size bars.
This recipe makes one 9x13-inch pan of Pecan Bars.

Pecan Pie Squares Recipe
Crust:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Pecan Filling:
- 4 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 cups corn syrup
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups chopped pecans
- Preheat oven to 350F degrees.
- Grease a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2-inch jelly roll pan.
- In a large bowl beat flour, butter, sugar and salt with electric mixeron low speed, until crumbly (mixture will be dry).
- Press mixture firmly into jelly roll pan.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
- In large bowl, mix all pecan filling ingredients (except pecans) until well blended.
- Stir in pecans.
- Pour pecan filling over baked crust layer and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until filling is set.
- Cool completely on wire rack before cutting into desired size bars.
This recipe makes one 15x10-inch pan of Pecan Pie Squares.
Pecan Squares Recipe
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup powdered sugar
- 1 1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon butter, divided
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup honey
- 3 tablespoons whipping cream
- 3 1/2 cups pecans, coarsely chopped
- Preheat oven to 350F degrees. Lightly grease 13x9-inch baking pan and set aside.
- Sift together flour and powdered sugar.
- Cut in 3/4 cup softened butter using pastry blender or fork just until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Pat mixture into bottom of pan and 1 1/2 inches up side of pan.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool pan on wire rack.
- In saucepan over medium-high heat, bring brown sugar, honey, 2/3 cup butter and whipping cream to a boil.
- Stir in pecans and pour into prepared crust.
- Bake at 350F degrees for 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
- Cool in pan on wire rack.
- Cut into desired size bars.
This recipe makes one 13x9-inch pan of Pecan Squares.
Do you prefer walnuts over pecans? Well this recipe works great for walnuts too. To make Walnut Pie Squares simply substitute walnuts for pecans in the recipe!
Pecan Pie Bars
Pecan Pie Bars Recipe
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 eggs
- 2 cups coarsely chopped pecans
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Preheat oven to 350F degrees.
- For the crust:
In a large bowl, beat 3/4 cup butter with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Add powdered sugar and beat until well blended. - Gradually add flour, beating on low after each addition. Mixture will be crumbly but should press together easily.
- Evenly press dough into bottom (and slightly up sides about 1/4 inch to form a lip) of ungreased 13x9-inch baking pan.
- Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Meanwhile, for filling:
In a medium bowl, beat eggs lightly with fork. Add pecans, granulated sugar, corn syrup, melted butter and vanilla and mix well. - Pour filling over partially baked crust.
- Return to oven and bake 35 to 40 minutes or until filling is set.
- Loosen edges with knife. Cool pan completely on wire rack before cutting bars into desired size and shape.
- Cover and refrigerate until 10 to 15 minutes before serving time. (Do not freeze).
This recipe makes one 13x9-inch pan of Pecan Pie Bars.
Pecan Pie Bars II Recipe
Prep Time: 25 minutes
Bake Time: 40 minutes
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Preheat oven to 350F degrees.
- In a medium bowl, sift together flour, powdered sugar and salt.
- Cut in 1/2 cup softened butter with a Pastry Blender, just until mixture turns into coarse crumbs.
- Press crumbled mixture into bottom of ungreased 11x7-inch baking pan.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until crust is lightly browned.
- Meanwhile, prepare the pecan pie filling:
In a medium mixing bowl, stir together eggs, pecans, brown sugar, corn syrup, 2 tablespoons butter, and the vanilla. - Spread pecan mixture evenly over partially baked crust.
- Bake for 20 minutes more, or until filling is set.
- Cool pan completely on wire rack before cutting into bars.
This recipe makes about 24 Pecan Pie Bars II.
